This one-day workshop is a great introduction into the fun and creative world of Special Effects Make Up. Find out how Casualty and Holby City do it!
Special FX Make Up
- Learn how to create first, second and third degree burns, vicious bruising, fat lips and dramatic cuts and breaks and if we have time we may throw in a broken finger or two! So realistic you will need plenty of choclate to stop you getting wobbly!
- Discover what products to use and where to buy them. Find out how to take care of your tools.
- Find out how to use your tools to get the best results.
- Professional behaviour and on set etiquette are essential when working on set, find out the do's and dont's.
- Health and Safety is important for an area of filmmaking, find out why and what you need to be aware of.
- Look at how to research your project and discuss continuity.
- Practice, practice, practice! Use your kit to work the magic of special effects.
- We encourage lots of questions throughout the workshop so do not be shy.

Cicely Connelly trained as a Beauty Therapist in 1990 and has since gone on to work in TV, Film, Theatre and Fashion. Cicely has worked on EastEnders, Holby City, Casualty, Ny-Lon and Byker Grove for TV and The Beggar's Opera and Woman in Black for theatre. Cicely has also lectured for several different college's and most recently lectured at the Delamar Academy specialising in Special Effects for TV.
